SHORTS
The shorts are knitted as one piece.
Make 1
* Cast on 16 sts in emerald green.
* Work 7 rows in st st, beg with a P row.
* Break yarn and leave sts on a spare needle or stitch holder.
* Work a second shorts leg exactly as the first, but don’t break yarn.
* Next row: K16 sts from second shorts leg, then knit across 16 sts from first shorts leg. [32 sts]
* Work 8 rows in st st, beg with a P row.
* K 2 rows.
* Bind off loosely.
STRAPS
Make 2
* Cast on 24 sts in emerald green.
* Bind off kwise.
MAKING UP
Using mattress stitch, join the back seam of the shorts so that the lowest part of the seam is level with the crotch. Join the two inside leg seams, again using mattress stitch. Put the shorts on the doll and sew the straps in place, crossing them at the back. Sew the buttons to the front of the straps, as shown in the photograph (see here).
